🌈 COLOUR RUN IMPORTANT INFO 🌈
What happens at registration and what should I bring/ wear?
Registration- runners are asked to register from 10am. When you register you will be asked to sign our waiver which holds safety information about the course. You will then be given a wristband which is your allocated colour wave. If you want to run with people please register together so you are allocated the same wave. Runners are then asked to proceed to the warm up area before getting taken over to the start line.
With over 500 runners we expect registration to be very busy at 10am. If you are able to run later, please delay registering until later. If you need to run in an earlier wave then please bear with us while we try to register everyone as quickly as possible.
Marshals around the site- Please listen to any instructions they give you around the course. The colour run planning team can be identified by blue lanyards and will be able to provide help and support. First Aiders will be on site to provide assistance.
Eye protection- children who are running will be provided with the sunglasses and MUST wear these whilst on the course. All adults running, throwing powder and those children/ adults hoping to use the free throw area must provide their own eye protection e.g sunglasses
Clothing- please don’t wear new or precious clothes to this event- even if you aren’t running! We cannot accept any responsibility for damaged items. Runners should come dressed in a light coloured t shirt, shorts/leggings and trainers. Clothing worn by runners is likely to get wet/ covered in colour. Please wear old items of clothing.
We will have some donated white polo shirts people can use if needed.
Waterproof phone pouches should be used by anyone wanting to take their phone on the course/ in the colour free throw area. Using a phone in these areas is at your own risk. We cannot accept any responsibility for damages.
After you run- All runners should consider bringing a change of clothes/ shoes (something warm). An old towel might also be helpful. We have access to the toilet/ changing facilities in the changing block at the side of the Gytes. Please do not access the main building when wet or covered in colour. Please stay on site after to enjoy everything there is to offer.
Raffle/ gunge the teacher- we will take a short break in the middle of the day to draw the raffle and gunge a teacher from each school. Can you guess who it will be from your school? Children/ adults can buy tickets to gunge their teacher at a cost of £1 each. The winning ticket holder for each school will have the opportunity to gunge their teacher.
Food/ music- we have a picnic area where seats/ blankets are welcome and live music will be playing. Please feel free to bring your own food and drinks but we will also have a whole array of yummy food to purchase from our vendors. We are hoping for sunshine so families can spend the day, enjoying what there is to offer, browsing the stalls and catching up with friends.
Cash- we will mostly be a cash only site. We have some independent stalls offering lots of fabulous things. Please bring cash on the day.
The weather- we have everything crossed for a warm sunny day, however, this is Scotland! If it rains then please don’t be put off, the rain will help the powder to stick even better! 😁

If you have signed up to the free throw area or as a thrower please bring sunglasses or something to protect your eyes.

Raffle tickets to win one of our fantastic coloured hampers were sent home in school bags yesterday. Please return both unused and completed tickets, with any money, in the envelope provided to the school office by pick up on Friday. Thank you.
These hampers were made using the combined donations from the non uniform days across the 3 Primary schools.
Volunteers from across the schools then put these together with the help and guidance of Mrs Nancy Fenton. Nancy also single handedly completed the Rainbow hampers for us at home over the holidays.
We were very sad to hear that Nancy passed away earlier this month and we would like to extend our deepest condolences to her family. Nancy was a lovely and selfless lady who gave up her time to support numerous community events and projects. We will always be grateful for Nancy’s help and the effort she put into these hampers. She will be very much missed by everyone in the community. ❤️
